Austria is set amidst stunning Alpine scenery, shimmering lakes and glorious mountains offering the ideal backdrop for a relaxing coach holiday. We will transport you to the tranquil Achensee Lake and through picture postcard villages, in one of the cleanest and most welcoming countries in the world. Austria is also home to a rich musical heritage, especially in Salzburg. It’s the birthplace of Mozart and of course, the Von Trapp family, offering many sights that any Sound of Music fan will not want to miss.

Harmony-Hotel Sonnschein, Neiderau, Austria

This 4-star family-run hotel is a real gem and is highly praised by its customers. The exterior has a quirky and artistic façade incorporated into the more traditional Austrian feel. Sunday 04th June – UK to Remagen-Oberwinter

Depart the UK to stay at the Ringhotel Haus Oberwinter. You can settle into the relaxed atmosphere of this wonderful hotel and enjoy the elevated view of the Rhine River.

Monday 05th June - Remagen

Today is free, allowing you time to relax and discover your surroundings. Due to the hotel’s hill top location, coach access is required to get out of the hotel grounds due to the steep approach road. A complimentary shuttle will be taking guests into Remagen, made famous by the capture of the Ludendorff Bridge during the closing stages of World War II.

Tuesday 06th June - Remagen-Oberwinter - Niederau

Depart Ringhotel Haus Oberwinter for our onward scenic drive to Austria’s beautiful Tyrol region, home to the Sonnschein Hotel in Niederau. On arrival you will be greeted with a huge welcome and will enjoy a relaxing evening at this wonderful hotel.

Wednesday 07th June – Niederau

Today we spend our time relaxing and discovering Niederau, located in the heart of the Tyrol, surrounded by the stunning Wildschönau mountains that will literally take your breath away. The town is an up-hill 6-minute stroll away but your coach is on hand should you require assistance with getting there.

Thursday 08th June - Rattenburg

After a leisurely breakfast we head to Austria’s smallest town, Rattenburg, which is tucked between the fortress on the hill and the Inn River. Here we will spend our time in this picture postcard town, soaking up the history and delights of the revitalised townhouses. We have included a visit to the famous glass blowing workshop at Kisslinger House, where you will see a family tradition that dates back decades.

Friday 09th June – Salzburg

Today our journey takes us to the vibrant city of Salzburg, home of Mozart and the setting that captured all our hearts in the film, The Sound of Music. Be sure to join our guided tour to see your favourite things from the movie as you snap a selfie at Mirabell Gardens and the Pegasus Fountain, where Maria danced with the children. In addition to the movie highlights, we also see the historical and architectural gems of this wonderful tantalising city, making this day a real highlight.

Saturday 10th June – Train from Jenbach to Meyerhofen

This morning why not join us as we head to the nostalgic narrow gauge railway. We will take a steam locomotive, with its accessible carriage for wheelchairs from Jenbach through the Zillertal valley to Mayrhofen, which is one of the loveliest valleys in the Tyrol region. This railway dates back to a time when train journeys were a real exciting event and our experience today will not disappoint.

Sunday 11th June – Pertisau Boat Trip and Gondola

Be sure to join us as we head to the scenic western shores of Lake Achensee, the largest and deepest lake in the Tyrol. Pertisau is known for its striking emerald waters, framed by the picturesque Karwendel and majestic Rofan mountain ranges. Why not join us as we will take a relaxing boat trip across the lake and finish with an eye popping gondala ride up the mountain range, so make sure your camera is ready as the views are exceptional.

Monday 12th June – Innsbruck City Tour

Today do not miss our guided tour of Innsbruck, the provincial capital of the Austrian Tyrol. It has twice hosted the Winter Olympics and was one of the host cities in the 2008 European Football Championships. This beautiful alpine destination, with its historical buildings many with their famous golden roofs, as well as the breath-taking scenery and snow-capped mountains, makes Innsbruck a delightful City to discover and explore.

Tuesday 13th June – Niederau - Remagen-Oberwinter

This morning we say goodbye to the wonderful staff at Sonnschein Hotel and reflect on your happy memories here, as we drive back to the Ringhotel Haus Oberwinter where you will enjoy a relaxed evening in familiar surroundings.

Wednesday 14th June – Andernach

After a relaxed and leisurely breakfast, we set off to the walled town of Andernach with its attractive riverside promenades. Today will provide you with an opportunity to explore, as well as check out the local cuisine and peruse the shops, before returning back to the UK.

Thursday 15th June - Remagen-Oberwinter to UK

Today we say goodbye to Remagen-Oberwinter and our new friends as we travel back to the UK.
