Location
The New Mayfair Hotel sits at the south end of Blackpool promenade, close enough to the seafronts attractions to make them easily accessible, but far enough from the thick of things to be able to take a breather. Blackpool is also close to some of Englands most beautiful countryside including the Lake District and the Yorkshire dales.
Terrain
Good access in and around the hotel and surrounding area. Miles of long flat promenade right on your doorstep. Ideal to take a slow stroll along the prom to see the famous Blackpool Pleasure Beach and meander down the seafronts three piers.
Equipment
Hoist, scooters and other mobility equipment available for hire. The hotel is also able to provide some wheelchairs, commodes and cot sides free of charge subject to availability. Please make these arrangements through our Travel Advisors at time of booking holiday.
Accommodation
The hotel has double and single rooms that are all wheelchair accessible with adapted bathrooms. Facilities include adjustable beds, lever taps and roll in showers (with 5cm tray) and shower chair. Grab rails are provided at both the shower and toilet. Rooms are comfortably furnished with colour TV, radio, tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a 2 bedroom accessible penthouse apartment with bath, private kitchen and lounge plus panoramic sea view. Hairdryers are available from the reception. Some lifts are smaller than others and we must be made aware of wheelchair widths and lengths prior to booking.
Facilities
The hotel has a sociable bar area with a large lounge and conservatory that provides a comfortable environment for a relaxing drink against the backdrop of the sea. In peak season evenings are never dull, with nightly cabaret entertainment provided in the ballroom including local singers and bingo nights. (Outside peak season entertainment is still provided subject to minimum numbers). The hotel is also able to offer some good value for money, accessible excursions for days out to Cleveleys and St Anne’s On Sea.
Wining and Dining
Kick start your day with a choice from the extensive breakfast menu, choose from typical ‘Full English’ or something lighter. Leisurely lunch and a four course evening dinner are provided in the hotel`s restaurant. Friendly staff are always on hand to make sure that your holiday is a real success. There is also a bar that is open throughout the day and in the evenings.
Out and About
Europe`s biggest and most popular seaside resort combines a traditional holiday beside the sea with the latest in high thrill rollercoaster rides at the Pleasure Beach. If roller coasters aren’t your thing then the town`s Grundy art gallery provides a cultural distraction for visitors. For evening entertainment, Blackpool has a variety of theatres, including the 3,000 seated Opera House that offers shows from comedy cabaret to West End musicals. Or why not indulge in a bit of retail therapy in one of Blackpool`s shopping centres! For a memorable Blackpool experience, visit between September and November for the town`s world famous illuminations. Started in Victorian times, the lights now stretch along five miles of the promenade and include spectacular fibre optic and computer controlled displays.
