Location

The Eria Resort is situated in the historic village of Maleme, in an area of unique natural beauty, surrounded by beautiful olive groves and greenery with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. The hotel is about 250 metres from the village centre but a free minibus will take you to the town if required, alternatively the promenade is lovely with the pure blue sea of Maleme is just 200 metres from the resort.

Terrain

Access in the hotel is very good and most of the areas around the hotel are flat, but the rest of Crete is variable, so assistance will be required by wheelchair users in many areas of the island.

Equipment

Electric and manual wheelchairs, hoists, oxygen compressors, scooters, rollators, air mattresses and other equipment are available to rent upon request. Doctors of any expertise and physiotherapist will be at your disposal if required.

Accommodation

All twelve rooms and two suites with fine and unique decoration, are fully equipped with one electric bed, monkey pole, air-conditioning, emergency call system, satellite TV, telephone, internet connection, radio, safe box, mini bar and hair dryer. The bathrooms are specially designed. They are all equipped with wheel-in shower and static shower chair, shower chairs on wheels are available to hire. Horizontal and vertical grab rails at the shower and grab rails at the WC with an adjustable raised toilet seat.

Facilities

The resort provides a reception area, lounge, restaurant, main bar, roof garden, and lift. It also provides a gym with separate physiotherapy area as well as Hammam and jacuzzi. Furthermore, you can enjoy the pleasures of the big swimming pool complete with hydro massage, as there is an accessible ramp for easy access. There are boccia, volley and basketball courts and a specially designed area for other sports.

Wining and Dining

The hotel offers a bar and restaurant. The bar is open from 8am to midnight, providing a wide selection of drinks, desserts and ice creams. The restaurant is at your disposal at any time between 8am and 9:30pm. Breakfast is buffet style and provides a wide selection. Lunch and Dinner provides a selection from an extensive buffet menu or a la carte. The hotel sometimes arranges evenings with typical Greek entertainment with traditional Cretan and Greek cuisine. Room service is at your disposal between 7:30am and midnight.

Out and About

Regular excursions include the architectural sights of Chania, the White Mountains and Samaria gorge, Gonis monastry and local markets. Suggestions for walks and other excursions will be at your disposal as well as an accessibility guide for Chania, which includes restaurants, cafeterias, movie-theatres, scuba diving and horseback riding.
