The area in and around the complex is quite flat and ramped for wheelchair use. The town centre of Puerto del Carmen is 1km away and the beach is 150m. The beaches in this area are accessible with wooden cladded walkways across the sand and cladded sunbathing areas, beach wheelchairs to access the sea, lowered showers and adapted toilets.
Commode shower chairs, hoists, scooters and other mobility equipment is available for rent. Please make these arrangements through our Travel Advisors at time of booking your holiday as your required equipment may not be available in all resorts.
The hotel has 373 apartments, 1 bedroom apartments are perfectly furnished and can take up to 4 persons. All apartments are equipped with a bath, cooking rings, a living room, a terrace or a balcony, telephone, television and a safe (extra). The apartments are cleaned five times a week, bed linen once a week and towels are changed twice a week.
Nine one- bedroom apartments have been adapted for wheelchairs. They have the same layout, but a roll in shower with grab in place of a bath. The entrance of the apartment is through a large sliding door and has a 2 inch lip. A ramps are availble from reception (maybe extra charge)
There are 4 swimming pools with children sections (one of them is heated during the winter season, and one has a ramp), free sun-beds, tennis and volley courts, table tennis, and pool tables. There is also the Califa Disco open from 20.00 (This is not accessible for wheelchairs as the entrance is down stairs). The entertainment program includes a mini-disco for small children who will participate in contests, games and songs with animation staff. The adults can attend different numbers of magic tricks, music, and contests in which they can participate if they dare!
In addition there is a 24 hour reception, car and bike rental, internet access, foreign currency exchange, gift shop, supermarket, laundry service, meeting rooms, parking, excursions, luggage room, taxi service. There is also a baby-sitter service that is available through the reception (you can leave your children with qualified and professional staff).
The Latino restaurant serves buffets during breakfast or dinner. In the morning you can choose from cereals, cooked breakfast, dried fruits, fruit juices, coffee, milk or cocoa. Evening meals offer a choice of pasta, many kinds of meats and fish, vegetables plus various cold dishes and to end with a choice of ice creams and desserts. The Ponton restaurant serves local and Italian cuisine.
Lanzarote is a relatively small island and easy to explore by car. Roads which cross the volcanic terrain, taking you through unspoilt villages and dramatic scenery, are immaculate and a pleasure to drive. A visit to the unique Timanfaya National Park is a must as is a camel ride into the volcanic hinterland! The unspoilt island of Fuerteventura is a short ferry ride away (and visible from Playa Blanca). Ferries sail each way several times a day.
