This river cruise takes you on a truly amazing visit to the International Floriade flower festival, where you will enjoy the world's most exquisite and exceptional flowers, trees, plants, fruits and vegetables. A unique experience as it only occurs every 10 years. You will also have plenty of time to admire the windmills and Dutch fishing villages along this fabulous sailing route.

This unique itinerary is for 6 nights and departs the UK on 13th April 2012.

We provide accessible coach transport from a central point in the UK, with the option of door-to-door pick up. Flight or self-drive options are also available.

 

Day 1  Amsterdam:

Depart the UK with your included coach transfer (additional flight and self drive options are available) to join the MS Alegria at the Dutch port of Amsterdam, a lively port with plenty to see and do in and around the port itself. After embarkation there is time to settle into your cabin and enjoy a realxing evening meal.

Day 2  Amsterdam-Utrecht-Nijmegen:

Waking up in Amsterdam this morning, after breakfast, you will have the opportunity to join our included tour to Keukenhof, a real highlight of this cruise holiday. Keukenhof is one of Europes most visited and loved attractions as well as Hollands most famous flower park, particularly attractive in springtime with an unrivalled display of tulips. Or we welcome you to relax onboard, or explore Amsterdam at your leisure or join our walking / wheeling tour, where our knowledgable guide will introduce you to the highlights of Amsterdam. During lunch we sail to Utrecht, to pick up guests on the Keukenhof tour and then set sail on to Nijmegen, founded 2000 years ago and believed to be the oldest city in Holland.

Day 3 Nijmegen-Venlo:

Waking up in Nijmegen this morning you will have the opportunity to explore this town before departing Nijmegen at midday, where we will sail on to Venlo arriving early evening, Venlo is home to the internationally famous Floriade horticultural exhibition.

Day 4 Venlo:

After breakfast we are offering a day visit to the special Floriade, a real treat for any garden enthusiasts, horticulturists and for many who simply love the delight of viewing some amazing flowers and floral displays. The Floriade, only taking place once every 10 years has many stands, displays and exhibitions from all over the world to delight you.

Day 5 Venlo-Tiel:

Departing Venlo ealry morning we will sail to Tiel, arriving in the late afternoon. This town which is famous for being the centre of fruit production for Holland and one of the oldest towns in the Netherlands, is enclosed by the Waal River, the Linge River and the Amsterdam Rhine Canal. Be sure to join our guided tour to explore the town before your evening meal.

Day 6 Tiel-Wijk Bij Duurstede-Amsterdam:

This morninng we sail to Wijk Bij Duurstede, a traditional Dutch port town. We will spend this morning here and make sure you join our guided tour to explore this fascinating area and see the ruins of the castle that once dominated the town. During lunch we will sail on to Amsterdam the largest and capital city of the Netherlands. Here you will have the afternoon to explore the shops, visit the many art exhibitions and museums or simply join one of our guided tours of the city before your farewell evening meal.

Day 7 Amsterdam-return to the UK:

After breakfast we will disembark the MS Algeria in Amsterdam at the end of a wonderful cruise of Holland and its amazing flower gardens and transfer back to the UK.

This bulbfields, Floriade and Holland cruise sails out of and back into Amsterdam for 6 nights. Prices are per person based on 2 adults sharing a cabin on a  full board basis including coach transport from a central UK point.
