99 Year Old Travels To Venice!

We have just received this lovely review from our special customers who took their 99 year old Dad to Venice. We are so proud of him travelling and would like to share their feedback with you.

"Dear Frankie,
My dad, myself and Donna, arrived back safely from our trip to Venice. (9th – 16th November 2014)
We had a great time and managed to explore St. Marks’s Square, The Frari, Murano, Burano and the area around the hotel, with the aid of  the ‘disabled access’ route maps that you provided. These were very useful and helped to remove any uncertainty we may have had prior to setting off for the day.
The location was perfect and we became adept at getting on and off the Vaporetti with the wheelchair.
Donna, our carer, had a lovely single room in the Chiara Hotel, overlooking the Grand Canal and our room in the Residenza Parisi was suitable for my dad’s needs.
I came to an arrangement with the hotel manager and staff with regard to my dad’s breakfast, which I took on a tray to his room in the annex.
I explained that at 99 years of age, he would find it difficult to get up and dressed in time to get to the main hotel.
Although it rained every day except Friday which was sunny, we were still able to eat outside on a few occasions and enjoyed the fish and vegetable soup., pasta, fish dishes and Pizzas.
There is one particular restaurant which I would like to recommend on the opposite side from the hotel, the Ferrovia,, Vaporetto stop called F30.
It has a varied menu and the staff are very friendly and helpful. On the last night there was a live Blues Band, which my dad especially enjoyed and the staff gave him a present before he left of the local Venetian biscuits.
(It also doubles as the local ‘hot spot’ for young Venetians, two nights a week!)

My father is now the talk of his care home and I believe that the local paper are writing an article on him. There can’t be many people of his age who would contemplate a trip abroad.
Thank you so much for making this possible and for all your help and advice prior to the trip.

Kind regards,

Bernadette, Ron & Donna"
